CARE WORKER - EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS
Job Description
All our staff members are expected to undertake the same level of training, regardless of the amount of hours they intend to work. All staff are also offered a guaranteed hours contract following a successful probation period.
Being a driver with access to your own vehicle is not essential but reliance on public transport may prove an issue particularly during evenings and weekends. Please consider how you will access the community if you are not a driver, and be prepared to demonstrate this in-depth at interview.
You must be flexible between the hours of 16:00 – 23:00 during evenings and weekends on a rota basis that meets the needs of the people we support. You do not need to commit to a particular number of hours. You will discuss the expectations of the role during interview which will be documented, and further formalised in your employment contract if you are successful in your application. Note that the enhanced rates of pay are paid on weekends, and kick in after 19:00 therefore the majority of your work will be paid at our enhanced rate.
You will still be expected to Register with Social Care Wales after your probation period. We will discuss how this should be managed as you progress through your career, particularly if your hours remain minimal. To find out more about Registration follow the link to our dedicated page. You will also be expected to attend all training in order to maintain compliance with regulations as well as your personal Registration. You must consider how you will overcome any barriers in accessing training when committing to working only on evenings and weekends. We will discuss how we can support you to access any training you are required to attend.
