Training is so important to us at Pineshield. We’ve developed a Learning Strategy to ensure that learning and development is embedded within everything that we do. We believe that quality investment in staff’s personal learning and development aids in the delivery of quality care.
We provide a combination of classroom-based training and award-winning eLearning, to ensure our staff team can access their training around their schedules and home life.
We provide mandatory training as well as ample opportunity for continuous professional development (CPD) through additional courses via our eLearning platform, virtual seminars or classes provided by our Local Authority. We also commission bespoke classroom-based courses, where the subject calls for it.
Registration is a requirement to work in social care in Wales now and although it is the responsibility of the care worker to maintain their training, we support with this through a number of ways

Whilst training and professional development is important to us, and we hope that it’s important to you too, we understand that additional learning can often eat further into your home life.
eLearning
There are many eLearning solutions available to the care sector. There are also plenty of negative perceptions of eLearning; just sitting in front of some outdated videos and clicking through some answers before receiving a certificate.
At Pineshield we understand that whilst there is a place for eLearning, it needs to complement your learning and development. We have invested in an award-winning eLearning provider – Lumis Essentials , formerly My Learning Cloud – which offers an accessible, easy-to-use platform.
We decided to invest in this to ensure that all of your training was accessible in one place, from one provider. This platform allows you to access over 90+ courses including mandatory training courses and CPD opportunities to further your development. You too can access your certificates at any time.
We believe that Lumis Essentials aids us in our vision to promote self-development and encourages team members to take ownership of their own learning.
Whilst training and professional development is important to us, and we hope that it’s important to you too, we understand that additional learning and qualifications can often eat further into your home life.
To help support you with finding that balance, we encourage you to talk to us if you want to take on additional learning but are finding barriers preventing you.
As a team member, you have access to eLearning available on your work mobile at any time, or this can be accessed remotely on your personal laptop, desktop, or other device, to suit your busy schedule. Where office space is available, we’re happy to accommodate you and any colleagues to complete your eLearning in a suitable environment.
